Hanging Out the Clothes

It's important to me for my children to understand and appreciate how things come to them. When they experience first hand the time and effort that goes into providing clean clothes, clean home and yummy food it encourages thank fullness. A thankful child is a happier child.

My children mostly enjoy doing these chores. Especially if it's new and novel to them. Like hanging clothes to dry, planting seeds, cracking the eggs to scramble, following a recipe, measuring things, mopping....of course age appropriate chores. It's educational and builds their confidence in who and what they are and what they are capable of. I believe children miss out on a lot of growth and happiness when parents do or have every thing done for them.

Here is Seleste hanging clothes to dry. I snuck up behind her and took this picture. She was having such fun.

We had a clothes line when I was little. I used to love running through the freshly washed sheets and breathing in the clean smell. The only bad thing about the clothes line was the fact that my horse knew if she ran under it quickly enough she could scrape me of her back. ;-) P.S. I love BBQ shrimp, but you might want to warn, it's not for those who are faint of heart when it comes to salt & spices.

I forgot one thing in previous comment. Sessies hair is gorgeous. I hadn't realized how long it's getting! I wonder if it has anything to do with your new natural lifestyle.?.

I couldn't have said it better myself. We hang our laundry to dry, but I'm having to deal with the little folding racks. I love your set-up for drying clothes! Someday.

Yes I have had a clothes line in the past but don't at this house. I should make the farmer put one up for me....but the rain at this end of Oregon only would allow about a three month period of sunshine.

Your daughters hair is beautiful! I have an award on my site for you. I appreciate your blog and how interesting it is.
